This is not you average flea market. People come from all over just to go through it . This flea market is so huge they pass out maps so you do not get lost in the maze of vendors. I have been to the flea market many time as it one of Scott favorite places to spend an afternoon . you can get just about anything here and tourist and native Florida people love it for the deals you can get. The really nice thing about this market is you have everything in one spread out place, from produce to fine jewelry. Scott and I really love the produce and the spice vendors. you can really get an awesome deal on fruits and veggies.
Among the vendors you can find beautiful art work, as seen on TV products, hand made fashion and crafts and just about anything you want. I have a few places that I always check for new stuff. the used book store, the used DVD store and the plants . They also have a number of dollar vendors that have so much more available than your average dollar store has. This is the biggest flea market I have ever seen and if you like antiques they have many vendors who offer some really unique things.
The fun in this market is not only in the shopping , They have so many really cool places to eat and you can get some of the carnival food you love like the awesome funnel cakes and elephant ears .They also have some really nice sit down places to eat and you can find Asian food and Greek as well as burgers and fries. because this is so spread out it could take you all day to see it all . there are over 1000 booths and 600 different vendors. Tourists love it because you can get souvenirs for your family and friends a whole lot cheaper than at a regular souvenir store. sweat shirts are routinely 5.00 and t shirts are usually 2 for 5 or 4 for 10 depending on the vendor and they are all really nice. I have gotten a lot of the sweatshirts and Ts to wear around the house .
So if you ever find yourself in Daytona and have a afternoon to spare you should check it out . You have to go early though because even though the market is open till 5 most of the vendors start closing at about 3pm and most of the produce is gone by around 1pm or so as people come from all over to get fresh veggies at such a great price. I do not have my own pictures of the flea market so I got this aerial view off the web so you can see just how spread out the market is .
This Daytona Flea market will always hold a special place in my heart because its where we got our Dog Asia when she was a puppy 5 years ago.
This is one of the really unique and neat places to see in Florida and you really will have fun shopping the day away as I have for many years .
