Book Review The Final Hour by Andrew Klavan
I received a a copy of The Final Hour but Andrew Klavan through Booksneeze . I was so happy I was chosen to review it.
I read this fabulous last installment of the Homelanders series over the 4th weekend because due to a fireworks/ fire ban in my area we were not really able to do much, But I did have a small get together at my daughters house for the products featured in the post below this one :)
In this last installment ,we Find Charlie West in a federal penitentiary slowly regaining his memories for the last few months in flashes . Charlie realizes he has been of a secret mission for the government to help stop terrorists, he can remember their is going to be an attack by the Homelanders but cant remember where or when it will be .
Charlie was raised in a christian home and its his faith that helps him not only get through some really bad times, but also helps him in his quest to stop the terrorists who threaten the country.
This book is for young adult readers but I have loved the series and think anyone would find great enjoyment by reading them. Its literally filled with no-stop action suspense and thrills.
Basically this is a good VS Evil novel that has our Charlie facing the bad guys with great faith and winning the day with courage and skill .I especially loved the ending which I felt really put a nice cap on a great series .
I naturally do now want to give to much away about the book and I would recomend you start with the first book in the series so you can really appreciate this last installment that much more .
I would especially recomend this Series for a book club group for young adults who need some exciting summer reads to talk about . I think all children in their teens would love this series and would really be able to identify with Charlie .I also loved that Andrew Klavan was able to deliver an intensely suspenseful and entertaining read with out including any harsh violence or the usual unpleasantness that most often accompanies a thriller of this caliber. I recomend starting at the top with the first installment of this series .The last thing I remember . it can be found here http://www.amazon.com/Last-Thing-Remember-Homelanders/dp/1595545867/ref=pd_sim_b_2
Healthy Child Healthy Home resources
On July 4th I was able to host a small party for healthy Child Healthy World at my Friends house because she has small kids. She also knows lots of moms who are looking forward to making there homes green and healthy for their children. We all had a lot of fun and the products were so impressive I thought I would do review for them by Introducing you to these great products.
first let me explain the 5 easy steps to a healthy home for children.
1- Avoid pesticides -these can be toxic and harmful and their are may ways you can get rid of pests by following the suggestions on this web site
Beyond pesticides
2-Use no Toxic products for cleaning and laundry. you would be surprised to see how many harmful chemicals are in everyday products. there is a lot of helpful info at this link.
Step 2
3-We breathe more than we eat. We breathe more than we drink. We are breathing all the time, but how often do you stop to think about what exactly you are breathing? Probably not nearly as much as how often you consider what else you're putting in your body. Yet, it's no less important, especially for young children who breathe faster than adults – inhaling 50% more air per pound of body weight.
Air pollution is obvious when you're caught in a plume of fumes from a diesel truck or when the wind blows smoke in your face from a camp fire or grill, but even when you can't see the air, it can still be heavily contaminated. Even more importantly, the worst air is generally inside, where most people spend roughly 90% of their time.
Air purifiers are a great choice and in the long run better than plug-ins or sprays, also green products like Earth Friendly products brand are packed with really pretty yet natural scents such as
Earth friendly Ultra Dish-mate in pear- ECOS Magnolia and Lily Laundry detergent and Parsley Plus all surface cleaners. theses can be found here at this link
Earth Friendly Products
4- Eat Healthy- Today’s modern diet is grown, processed, and packaged using toxic chemicals. From the pesticides used on conventional farms to the bisphenol-A used to line the insides of aluminum cans, our food is heavily tainted before it hits the table. Pesticides, bacteria, industrial chemicals, and food additives all find their way into our children’s foods, often at levels that can be harmful to them in myriad ways.
Pound for pound, children eat and drink more than adults. Therefore, healthy eating is essential in order to safely nourish their growing bodies.
Keep in mind what Hippocrates said "Let food be thy Medicine and Medicine be thy food"
there are many wonderful and healthy organic foods available today such as Earthbound Farm Organic and Organic Valley are 2 awesome places to start you can see their products and more info here

5-Be wise about plastics
Plastics are everywhere and in most cases are very affordable and convenient. But, increasingly scientists are finding that a hidden cost may be our health. Some common plastics release harmful chemicals into our air, foods, and drinks. Maybe you can’t see or taste it, but if you’re serving your dinner on plastic, you’re likely eating a little plastic for dinner.
Beyond the immediate health risks, our increasing use of plastics is causing an enormous amount of enduring pollution. Every bit of plastic that has ever been created still exists (except for the little bit that has been incinerated, which releases toxic chemicals). In the ocean, plastic waste is accumulating in giant gyres of debris where, among other thing, fish are ingesting toxic plastic bits at a rate which will soon make them unsafe to eat.
Plastic is generally toxic to produce, toxic to use, and toxic to dispose of. Luckily, we can all make safer choices.
Now that you know the 5 steps I would like to talk about some awesome products That are green and safe for children.

Book Review Gods love letters to you a 40 day devotional
Book review Gods Love Letters to you a 40 day devotional By Dr Larry Crabb
As stated in the title this is a 40 day devotional written like letters from God to you - they follow the chapters in the bible such as Day one Genesis , day 2 Exodus etc.
I thought this to be a nice little devotional. It has a title, a verse from the bible and than the body of the letter for each day . What makes this unique is after the letter you can read the "Take the time to reflect" part which than gives you ideas of what to reflect on, after that is a short prayer pertaining to the subject of the letter for that day.
The letters start with God Says but than the author takes it from their. Although I said it is a nice devotional, I did think some of the Letters were a bit harsh or more strict. I believe in a loving God who would,I think, speak kinder to me, but thats just my perspective . Since these letters are of course not written by the Lord and are rather Dr Crabb putting himself in the role of God for the purpose of writing this devotional, I just thought many of them came across in a disapproving tone.
The book is titled Love letters, but I did not feel much love while reading them, I felt rather like I was being addressed by a disapproving human father or boss. I am use to devotionals that make me feel uplifted and loved , or bring the joy of the lord to my heart, so maybe thats why I felt these were a bit cold . However its really nicely laid out with the letter first and than the part where we are to reflect on what was said and the prayers were nice . Each day only takes a very few minutes to read and would fit into anyone's day no matter how busy they are . I am not trying to say I hated it, I just thought as a devotional, it was quite different and not what I'm use to . thanks for reading my review
